Would anyone be interested in sending out some of our formatted emails (asking for volunteers/associate board members) to as many people as they know and maybe a few they don't know. We are trying to inform the entire community about the project. By doing this it will help our Capital Campaign of selling membership passes at a discounted rate to help fund the aquarium? Imagine if we sold 5000 family passes at a discounted rate of $54.99 that would help the Aquarium tons.
So we have a prepared email that can be sent out if you let us know that you can help us in this tremendous effort it would help spread the word fast.
Reply to this thread with comments/suggestions.
We also plan in February to have cars and groups of people going house to house selling these member passes so the more people we have helping the easier it will be for us to sell them. And if any one knows of someone that would like to sell them now please let or buy them now let us know!!
Thanks guys and remember, many hands doing the work is how this Aquarium is going to be built.

Good morning Ammon. I have a suggestion that may help publicize our efforts. Why don't we set up an information booth in the Boise Towne Square and have printed matter and other items like stickers, ball caps, maybe t-shirts that would do the advertising for us. We could also make available our passes. Just a thought.

Yes I think thats a great idea. I'm wondering about cost I think that a booth cost $3k per month. Then we would need to staff it, put things for sale which cost $$ upfront and of course member passes would have to be there. What other Items could we put there. Maybe a TV with the Planet Earth videos of the ocean playing? the more i think about this the better it seems. We would have to see if we could sell enough passes to keep the booth open.
Could someone call the Mall and see how much it cost?
We could put up a booth at like Edwards or Majestic theater or something too.

Good morning Ammon, looks like a lot of sticks in the fire. I will call the Boise Towne Square and with a little luck, maybe get them to "donate" the space and time. I will make an appointment to speak face to face with the Manager. What I need to do is get together with you and Chris as soon as possible so I can this I can get the proper info, printed matter and whatever else we might need to make this a success. A blueprint of the project would be a big plus. Let me know what you think and if you could, email me and or call my cell 230-1566 or home and message number 454-1291. I wait for your email or call. Respectfully, Raymond

What about other events - like the Western Idaho Fair, Garden City Days, First Thursdays (BODO), Saturday Market, Race for the Cure, Alive After 5, St Al's Kid Classic, Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic, Light the Night Walk, the 4th of July fireworks? All of these places are for families to go. Getting everyone notified will be a huge boost to the aquarium.
Is it too early to adopt an animal? Adopt a starfish, turtle, seal, shark... that's real tempting! Your great Uncle Hal aka "the Hammer" might like to adopt a hammerhead...
You know how in BODO they sold bricks (yes we have one) with names on it for the donors? Could we do that for extra $$$? Everyone wants their name to be seen. It could be for the sidewalk outside, wall inside?
Billboards aren't too expensive and you have 1000's of people driving by every day.
I'm passing the word through my email list, website and word of mouth!

Those are all great ideas I have been trying to get a hold of the people that manage the billboards but I cannot find a contact for them can you help me get prices?
How could we get involved in the other things you mentioned? We are going to be in the Kids Fair in February but it's only one day.

Hello, I could send e-mails to people I know. I participate in many Hispanic/Latino events. We love the Zoo, amusement parks, and definetly we'll enjoy the aquarium.
